2025 – Stora Ingenjörspriset
01Sunsurf Solar received Stora Ingenjörspriset in the Innovation category on the company's fifth anniversary. It is one of Sweden's most prestigious engineering awards and highlights Swedish technology development with strong potential for societal benefit. Founded by: the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA), Ny Teknik, Preem AB, Scania Group, Skanska, Sweco and the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket).
2025 – E-Prize, finalist
02Sunsurf Solar was a finalist in E-Prize 2025 in the Renewable Energy category. The jury highlighted the solution for combining local electricity production, evaporation protection and freed-up land surface. Founded by: Aktuell Hållbarhet, Dagens Industri and E.ON.
2024 – Solenergipriset (Swedish Solar Energy Award)
03Sunsurf Solar was recognised at Solenergipriset 2024 for the work behind Sweden's first floating solar installation — proof that Swedish solar energy need not be limited to ground or rooftop installations. Founded by: Svensk Solenergi.
2023 – SVT Draknästet (Dragons' Den)
04Sunsurf Solar appeared on SVT's Draknästet in 2023, where the founders presented the vision of floating solar on Swedish water surfaces to a national TV audience. The appearance helped broaden interest in the technology.
2024 – Startup of the Year
05Sunsurf Solar was named Startup of the Year 2024 at the Trollhättan Business Awards. The jury cited the company's role in the green transition and its ability to enable large-scale solar solutions on unused surfaces. Founded by: Innovatum Science Park.
2022 – Innovatum Startup Incubator
06Sunsurf Solar was admitted to the Innovatum Startup Incubator in 2022 — an important step early in the company's journey. The incubator place provided strategic support to continue developing PowerModule™ and PeatModule™ and helped bring the first pilot project at Sötåsens Naturbruksgymnasium into operation.
